This beautiful painting is part of the exhibition currently on display at Rona Gallery, along with many other paintings by Richard Ponder and other artists.

Rona Gallery is also home to Richard Ponder's art studio, he recently finished the painting below

And he is currently working on this painting

Richard Ponder tends to not stay in one style for long, switching between flowers and nature and the city to more abstract works.

Next post will be about landscapes!

Exhibition: Moving House Sept 22 - Oct 7 2012

I've been busy sorting out paintings, with a view to moving in the nearish future.

What that has done is allow me to look through much of my work and provide a near retrospective of work  thoughout my decades of painting.

Love to see you at the gallery, I'll be around over Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd of September to talk about the development of my art and my plans for the future.

Cheers,
Richard

New Exhibition - Cornucopia with Paul Tait

Paul Tait and my Exhibition "Cornucopia" is up at Rona until 30 October, come along.  Or if that is impossible, you can get a small taste of some of the paintings here on the Rona Gallery website.

Paul Tait, is a technically brilliant artist who first began showing his work in Texas.  His style is somehting he has worked hard to develop, and although it has been influenced by surrealism and superflat, it can best be described by the term "Taitism."  More about Paul Tait here - enjoy!

This and that and Spring

Well our website has been up for a while, so I've hardly had any time for this blog.  But here on our http://www.ronagallery.co.nz/home you'll find that spring has really sprung.  The gallery looks fantastic!  And we're proud to have so many great artists adorning our walls.

Both Ken Hunt and Alison Anker are madly into birds, their work is simply delightful.  so come in and have a look - or check out Ken Hunt's work http://www.ronagallery.co.nz/Ken_Hunt

so wherever you are - enjoy this moment of spring.

Richard.

My Splatter exhibition has some unusual guests. Splatter is not new for me but it is a development of my unique style

My Splatter exhibition caused quite a stir.  Two unexpected guests turned up in the form of Peter Rabbit and Spot the Dog.  Mrs Rabbit shoed them away eventually, so they
wouldn't be too tired for story time later.
